Getting pretty never seemed so attractive than at La Barberia's weekly
Martini & Manicure Nights. While a manicurist sparkles your nails and a masseuse soothes both your hands and ego, you can sip on pumpkin-pie, lemon-cake, and key-lime martinis as if they're liquid candy. And it's not just for the gals anymore. "A lot of college guys come in with gift certificates from their girlfriends, who tell them that they really need to do this," says Christine, the spa's one-named manicurist. "You can come in feeling down in the dumps and leave feeling like a million bucks. You can't beat it."Once an early-20th-century apartment, the Little Italy "image-enhancing center" still maintains the home's creature comforts. Manicures take place in its former common room, which makes clients feel as if they're sitting in their own living rooms. The spa also specializes in hair treatments, tanning, and waxing packages. Hint to the dudes: It's also a fabulous if not (not?) unpublicized place to pick up chicks. It would make Sex in the City's Carrie Bradshaw proud. Drink and relax at 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at La Barberia Spa & Salon, 12215 Mayfield Road. Fee is $25. Call 216-231-7474 or visit
