People can score a last-minute Fathers Day gift at todays
DadsDay Run. Everyone who crosses the finish line at the fifth-annual outing gets a tie. We put them around their necks, like medals, says director Peter Nagusky. The day features three races: a 5K opening race, a 1K run, and a 100-meter Kidsprint. The kickoff jog loops around tree-lined Shaker Heights neighborhoods, but its the toddler competition that gets everyone excited, says Nagusky. They run this race with their bibs on. All participants score a commemorative T-shirt, while victors snag trophies. More than anything, says Nagusky, its a way for families to bond with Dad on this very special day. Im running around behind the scenes, he says. But my kids always come out and race for me.
