Food Network host Robin Miller knows you’re busy. She realizes you don’t have time to stand over a hot oven for three hours when you come home from work. That’s why she wrote Quick Fix Meals, based on her same-named TV show. “It’s for people with crazy busy lives who want to free up mealtime,” she says. The book features recipes for such speedy delicacies as stove-top jambalaya and creamy roasted-red-pepper soup. “I’m inspired by what’s in my pantry,” she says. Miller also offers plenty of tips for novices and people who can’t be bothered with minutiae. Don’t have ingredients for cookies? No problem. Shape premade pie crusts and sprinkle them with sugar! “I want people to use this book,” says Miller. “I want them to get sauce and stuff all over it.”
