Fronted by a former Canadian Idol finalist, the Vancouver rock band Hedley offers a mix of emo and pop-punk on its self-titled debut. The band's first U.S. single, “On My Own," is starting to generate some buzz, and the group has already been labeled a Band to Watch. Most of Hedley's songs have a fist-raising quality that bucks up the brokenhearted, thus managing to appeal simultaneously to starry-eyed girls and the boys who pine for them.
