Best Theatrical Entrepreneur: Barbara Corlett

Cleveland is a tough town for a performer seeking recognition. Taking matters into her own well-manicured hands, Barbara Corlett transformed a restaurant party room into a cozy theatrical nook, where she performed (along with the wonderfully comic actor-bartender Christian Shepherd) in the '60s romantic comedy The Owl and the Pussycat. Playing director, producer, and star for three months at the Fox & Crow, Corlett made barflies forget their drinks, thanks to her combination of charisma and sex appeal.
