Best Country Family Night: The Dusty Armadillo

Sunday nights at Rootstown's Dusty Armadillo have a no-smokin', no-drinkin', no-cussin' policy that's strictly enforced, so it's safe for the kids. Doors open at 4:45 p.m., allowing just enough time for a brief stretch before line-dancing lessons begin. Over the next four hours, a mob of regulars shows herculean stamina, never tiring of old favorites like the Boot-Scootin' Boogie and the Electric Slide, or contemporary hits by Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, and Tracy Byrd. Plenty of teens show up for the all-ages night, but dancers range from 5 to 75, so no one will feel out of place. And while the dancers take all that two-steppin' seriously, they're still patient with beginners, so the atmosphere is friendly.
