It's no secret that I have a super-huge crush on actress Zooey Deschanel. Hell, I have the restraining order to prove it!

I chased her all around Austin last year. I've sat through most of her movies — even the crappy ones. Thankfully, her latest, the romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer (which opens next month) looks pretty good.

Music plays a big part in the film, so it's no surprise then that the soundtrack features a ton of cool tunes. I'd like to think Deschanel — who performs with M. Ward as She & Him — had a hand in choosing the songs.

In addition to oldies like Simon & Garfunkel's "Bookends" and Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams," the soundtrack (which comes out on July 14) includes tracks by hipster-approved artists like Regina Spektor, Black Lips, Doves, Feist and Wolfmother.

The album also includes a pair of Smiths songs — "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" and the B-side "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want," which also appeared on a really good soundtrack album to another romantic comedy back in the day: 1986's Pretty in Pink. Added bonus: She & Him cap the album with their own take on the song.
