Fun Show Alert: Unknown Hinson at Peabody’s Tomorrow

Posted By on Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 3:33 PM

The performer known as Unknown Hinson will deny any connection to cartoon Squidbillies, but don’t believe it — when he’s not touring as his ’50s-throwback alter ego, he’s the voice of Early Cuyler on the Adult Swim show.

And when he is in character, the self-declared “chart-topping king of love” and “king of country western troubadours” leads a rockabilly trio through a set of tips tunes like “Lingerie,” “BarbieQ” and “Torture Town.”

Ask him nice, and he’ll give some pointers on how to talk your significant other into swinging. —D.X. Ferris

Unknown Hinson and the Not So Good Old Boys. Thursday at Peabody’s (2045 E. 21st St., Downtown), 216-776-999. Doors 7 p.m., tickets $12 ADV/$15 DOS.
