Get Your Weed Ready — JamRock 2010 Is Only Six Months Away

It sounds like a little piece of heaven for reggae and jam-band fans: Negril, Jamaica. Three special concerts — two on the beach and one on a cliff — featuring Cleveland reggae group Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band and Columbus-based jam-band Ekoostik Hookah. And an informal acoustic jam session around a bonfire you can participate in.

That’s what’s on tap for those who sign up for Jamrock 2010, taking place from April 17-24. If that sounds intriguing, there’s a kickoff party starting at 9 p.m. tomorrow at A.J. Rocco’s downtown (816 Huron Rd.).

Lee, who’s organizing the on-the-ground activities, will be in from Jamaica to answer questions, and you’ll have the chance to meet some of the people (and musicians) you might be hanging out with.

Jones and Hookah keyboardist/vocalist Dave Katz will be playing, and there’ll be Jamaican food available to really get you in the mood. Ganja not provided ... as far as we know.

The party’s free. Go to jamrock2010.com for more info. —Anastasia Pantsios
