Never mind the dipping temperatures this weekend. It’ll be steamy tonight at View Nightclub, when one of the area’s most popular salsa bands joins forces with an ensemble of youthful Oberlin Conservatory students.

Sammy DeLeon (whose roots go back to the ’80s with Impacto Nuevo) and his group Con Salsa y Sabor have been packing dance floors for more than a decade and have released numerous albums.

Son de Oberlin (now there’s a name with a Latin ring!) features 12 students from the world-renowned music school who play Latin favorites from the ’70s through today, with a classically trained brass section propelling Miguel Amaguana’s opera-seasoned vocals.

Salsa lessons for the novices or those who just want to brush up start at 9 p.m.; cover is $10.
