Monday night was the last night for Cleveland’s Breakfast Club, the Lakewood rock club formerly — but basically still — known as the Hi-Fi Concert Club.

Over decades, the stage at the storied venue had hosted artists including David Bowie, Cleveland crossover champs Victory Flag, and hair-metal has-beens like D’Molls.

The club celebrated its end with an impromptu bash featuring the Billy Morris Band, which had made the place a destination for live-band karaoke every Wednesday.

Partner Billy Morris is a former Warrant guitarist who currently plays in cover band the Breakfast Club. He told Scene he can’t divulge further details until the final paperwork on the deal is signed later in the week.

Stay tuned to learn what’s next for the former owners and the building.

“I'd like to thank everyone for the great times at the Hi-Fi Club/Breakfast Club Bar,” Morris wrote on his Facebook page. “Please look for our new place in Berea opening soon.” —D.X. Ferris
