Akron-based singer-songwriter Ryan Humbert is reprising the big-band acoustic show he played in December at the Akron Civic Theatre. This time, the ten-piece ensemble will perform at the Canton Palace Theatre at 7:30 tomorrow night.

The show is a benefit for Project Rebuild, which helps high-school dropouts ages 16-24 get their diplomas while learning a trade.

Tickets are $20 reserved; $15 general admission.

The concert iis titled Strung Out, a reference to the fact that Humbert’s regular band will again be joined by a string quartet led by violinist Michael Houff. They’ll perform a repertoire spanning more than half a century — from Frank Sinatra to the Beatles to Peter Gabriel to Wilco.

And for those who want to make a long evening of it, there’ll be an afterparty immediately following the concert at the Brownstone Steakhouse next door to the Palace.

Humbert — who performs in numerous formats with different musicians — has also just released a new duo record with longtime singing partner Emily Bates, Tell Me What You See. He’ll have copies for sale at the show.

And at 8 tonight, as part of Canton’s monthly First Friday arts event, Ryan and some of his band members will give listeners a little taste of what they’ll hear tomorrow in a rooftop concert at Primo’s Restaurant (216 4th St. NW in Canton). —Anastasia Pantsios
