Eminem vs. Egghead

Posted By on Thu, Aug 26, 2010 at 12:41 PM

If you're anything like us, you've probably been sitting around the past couple weeks wondering about the psychological implications of Eminem's video for "Love the Way You Lie."

Well, we're all in luck, because the Last Psychiatrist has just broken down the video for us — complete with a tiny illustrative graph.

The 2,500-word treatise throws around a lot of psychiatric buzzwords and stuff like "This thinking chooses a label, and then tries to soften the use of that label by feigning outrage or sympathy" in an attempt to define the warring couple (played by Megan Fox and Charlie from Lost) at the center of the video.

If you don't have time to read the piece (and we're guessing you don't), it's pretty much summed up by this line three-quarters in: "This song isn't about Domestic Violence, it's about people."

And we thought it was about selling an album by an artist who almost singlehandedly is keeping the music industry afloat this summer. —Michael Gallucci
