Whether your parents are still paying for your privileged university-attending ass or you're footing your entire life with student loans, you should absolutely take advantage of all the college-specific discounts in Cleveland. Grab your student ID, a couple of drinking buddies and check out these awesome deals around town. You won't be a student forever ... hopefully. Arts
Great Lakes Theater
1501 Euclid Ave. Suite 300, greatlakestheater.org
Through December, the theater is presenting The Hunchback of Notre Dame, A Midsummer Night's Dream and of course, A Christmas Carol. Students can get deeply discounted tickets for $13, except for the theater's bread and butter, A Christmas Carol, which is still $26 a ticket.
Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art
11400 Euclid Ave., mocacleveland.org
You're already aware that the Cleveland Museum of Art is free, but its contemporary counterpart usually is not. Lucky for you, admission is only $5 with a valid student ID, and don't forget that the museum is free to all on the first Saturday of every month.
The Cleveland Orchestra
11001 Euclid Ave., clevelandorchestra.com
Join the Cleveland Orchestra's Student Advantage program and most shows (at Severance Hall, Blossom Music Center or otherwise) are just $15 a ticket. That means you can experience one of the best orchestras on the planet for basically the same price as a cheese pizza.
Cleveland Play House
1407 Euclid Ave., clevelandplayhouse.com
All students under 25 can pick up tickets at Cleveland Play House for as little as $15; Cleveland State University students can grab tickets for as low as $6. However, these student tickets can only be purchased 90 minutes prior to the evening's performance. Appearing on the stage through December are Shakespeare in Love, The Diary of Anne Frank, Macbeth and A Christmas Story.
Learn Something
Cleveland Museum of Natural History
1 Wade Oval Dr., cmnh.org
Students can see monkeys and dinosaurs and the stars for just $12 at this museum. Sure, that's only a $3 discount, but better than nothing.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
1100 Rock and Roll Blvd., rockhall.com
College students only have to pay $18 to get in to see Michael Jackson's glove. Other adults have to pay $23.50.
Great Lakes Science Center
601 Erieside Ave., greatscience.com
The center's motto is "Stay curious." And while the stop only offers a $1 discount to students, we know that kid part of you wants to check out the included NASA Glenn Visitor Center.
Technology
Technology companies are mostly out to bleed the world of money, but when it comes to students, some take pity. Adobe Creative Cloud offers discounts of up to 60 percent to students, and Windows computer users can get Microsoft Office for free. Amazon wants student business so badly they're offering Amazon Prime for free for the first six months, then half off after that. Basically before purchasing anything technological, check to see if there's a discount.
Movie theaters
You probably already knew this from all those hot dates in high school, but movie theaters do offer student discounts. Depending on the location, Regal and AMC theaters cost around $10 for college kids. And the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque's screenings are only $7 for Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland State University students.
