Check out the a showing of A Christmas Story Dec. 3 at 1 p.m., White Christmas on Dec. 14th at 7 p.m., The Polar Express in 3D on Dec. 17 & 18 at 11 a.m. and a  midnight showing of Lethal Weapon at Capitol Theatre on Dec. 17. Admission is $6 per person.

The Christmas Movie Museum down in Medina is a little known gem in Northeast Ohio, and it spreads Christmas cheer year 'round. But the holidays are a natural time to head down south to bask in the treasures from your favorite holiday classics that have made their way to Medina County including gems from Elf and Fred Claus and more. A fixture on the local scene for the past ten years, Wallace Settles (aka Dirty Jones) is the promoter behind the local showcase Cruel Winter Fest, which takes place at the Grog Shop on Dec. 9. 
This year’s incarnation of an event that’s billed as “the only annual independent hip-hop festival in Cleveland” will feature more than 15 diverse acts at the Grog Shop and B Side Liquor Lounge. Each year, the Stan Hywet estate is "illuminated inside and out with over 800,000 lights, and the historic Manor House is decorated and inspired by the theme of 'Home for the Holidays.'" The organizers have arranged an animated holiday window in the courtyard that depicts 1920s-era downtown Akron at dusk during the holidays.
