Re: “Sachsenheim Hall

A fantastic dive.

It's not pretty but it should be more popular.

Real German beer available in liters, home-cooked food, and weird people.

Shitty neighborhood.

Perfect.

Re: “The Kent Stage

Warning don't EVER attend a concert here if you want to enjoy it. Their "OLD/ancient" employee "David Laird" tells EVERYONE to sit down regardless of how much you've paid for your concert ticket. He upset so many JW fans and made the concert miserable. I was in the 4th row along with many others told to sit down by him. Drove over 2 hrs to see John Waite, but will NEVER be back to see another concert held at this dump. Rude VERY OLD GRUMPY employee. Three women's bathroom stalls for a packed house. It's a dump, but worst of all is "David Laird" who thinks he's "somebody" because he's a security guy. I asked for his name because he ruined the show for all sitting around me. Several people were complaining about his rudeness after the concert. NEVER been to a concert where you can't stand except for the last song. . Thought fans should be warned. Don't bother, see your favorite artists at another venue. You cannot stand, or dance!! Venue for those 80yrs and above ONLY like their employees!! So many complaints of those sitting around me. If I were an artist, I'd NEVER play there. Seriously it was horrible, waste of money and horrible time had by all because of weird security issues with the odd security guy on an ego trip. I will NEVER attend another concert @ this venue. Zombie crowd only. Nobody around us could even enjoy the show because of big headed "important security guy" Laird. NEVER experienced such a horrible concert experience in all my life. And I'm in my 40's, belly danced with Prince's ex wife, been to tons of concerts. It was a total waste of my day, time and money. Worst concert experience in my life. You've been warned. Old crowd that can't move/stand and over welcome ONLY. SMH

Re: “The Empire Concert Club & Bar

The Empire is a great place to see quality bands. The people who work there are friendly and professional. I've brought my 11 & 12 year olds there before and the staff are always friendly and attentive to the kids - even bringing them popcorn sometimes. Great staff, great bands, great drink prices - all the important areas covered 100%. The Empire is my favorite venue to see great live music.

Re: “Kent Natural Foods Co-op

Great on convenience if you live in downtown Kent , amazing selection of bulk herbs & spices . Good amount of bulk food and health and beauty products .
Poor customer service, many, many items are not priced ( no price tag or signage) and consistent expired product found on sales floor. Most particularly in the dairy case , regularly see items even weeks past date ( once 3 months past expiration!!) sitting on shelf ( sometimes with newer dates mixed in with expired dates - so it is apparent an employee filled the case and didnt check dates)

Re: “Penton Media Buildings

I do business in this building DAILY as I work next door. So, when your building workers said that I could have your plants that you were going to throw away, I took them up on their offer. It was rather disappointing (and insulting) when the building "manager" walked up to me and demanded to see my work ID. He stated the plants were for building employees only and kindly asked me to leave, without using those exact words. I found it rather ironic that he only approached me when there started to be a group of black women gathering to pick up plants. He never said anything to the previous group who were all white. Neither did he demand to see their IDs when they came to the area.

Re: “Pearl of the Orient

OMG!!!! Great food!!!! And the service was great!!!!! I ordered to go and the service was STILL GREAT!!!! I got the potstickers, chicken fried rice and Manderin chicken! The house manager said I should try the potstickers braised over the steamed. I liked that he stopped and explained to me some menu options! The food didnt take long at all! And the cashier was so professional! He showed me my order before I paid and exited! I look forward to ordering from there again!!!!

Re: “Foster's Tavern of Hinckley

Excellent in all aspects. Had a great chat with the owner, bar service was excellent. We are out of towers, and everyone there was so friendly! Lunch was phenomenal with each plate enough for two. I had the kielbasa sandwich with kraut and my wife had sirloin steak sandwich. Both perfect! Cant wait to go back!!!

Re: “ESCAPE swingers/lifestye club

Escape is OK but EROS in the Flats is much better. Much respect to Jenny, Yolanda, Rosa, Craig + Kaitlyn! My husband and I have so much fun at Eros every time. We are not swingers or swappers, or whatever it's called, but we like being in a fun, flirty, adult environment. Eros has good music, a great dance floor, lots of great rooms (no attendant needed to unlock the doors like at Escape) Also, parking is decent - there is limited free street parking and a nice parking lot a few blocks down ($6) Why doesn't the Scene list Eros? There's an old listing for the OLD Club Eros with outdated info. Please add Club Eros to your listing so people can compare it to Escape.

Re: “Lake County Republican Party Headquarters

I just voted at LaMuth School approx. 4:30 pm. While I was in my voting booth, the voter next to me was asking one of the poll workers to show him how to vote. The worker said "it depends if you want war, or peace". Is this common practice for a poll worker to voice their opinion and try to sway the voter to vote their way?!!!! I regret not getting the worker's name but he was an older man with white hair, average to short height. I was appalled! I wonder how many other voters he has tried to influence to vote his way. I have also sent an email to the lake county board of elections. I hope this will be investigated and screening of these employees be a little more strict. This should not be taken lightly.
Thank you
