Re: “Hyacinth Lofts

I resided at the Hyacinth lofts APT 403 (owned by Tower Press) for 6 months - I moved out early due to job relocation.

During my time here, I found that management (Tom and Dave) were everything but helpful. We had a leaky roof for the entirety of our residency and despite countless maintenance requests, the problem was never solved. We had 3 permanent buckets that constantly collected smelly, discolored water that dripped from huge cracks in the ceiling and brick face. At one point, I was told by maintenance "they could not find the problem" despite the obvious water stains on the walls. Our neighbor APT 405 across from us also had issues with a leaking roof and told us "management will do nothing - the roof leaks in my bedroom, onto my bed, and on my computer equipment constantly". He moved out 4 months into our residency. In addition to our leaky roof, we also had a serious mold issue due to poor installation of the dishwasher.

Another huge disappointment is the level at which Hyacinth loft is dog-friendly. It's great a feature however management DOES NOT monitor who is vaccinating their dogs. As a result we had a slew of young residents purchase puppies without vaccinating their dogs putting other dogs at high-risk for Parvo. In addition, there is no care taken by management to treat the yard for fleas or ticks - our dog constantly picked them up from other residents who refused to use flea treatment on their pets. Dogs are often off-leash in hallways and you can hear dog fights break out throughout the day. There were several new residents who brought untrained dogs into the building who would bark, growl, and lunge at passing residents. Clearly there are several owners who are ill-informed about dog safety and management does nothing about it.

If you're thinking of living here, please don't. Save your money and rent from someone other than Tower Press, Hyacinth Lofts, Tremont Lofts, 2030 Lofts, Fairfield Ave. Lofts, Merchant Ave. Lofts, and Erie Building Lofts. Do not be fooled by "live/work" or "loft-space". If you are looking to join a strong community of artists, these are not the lofts for you. You'll find plenty of old articles regarding "The artistic community at Hyacinth lofts" - do not be fooled. There is no sense of community nor are there any creative individuals living within the lofts - most residents are heavy drug users or sublet their apartment out as an Airbnb - as a result there are plenty of strangers who have no respect for the property or current residents.

I wish I would have trusted the reviews I read before moving into this place - nearly everything is true. Following our move out we were charged a cleaning fee in which Tower Press claimed it took 6.5 hrs to clean our apartment. Our apartment was studio style - 780sq ft. We were told by management we would not receive a large portion of our security deposit because of this. It's completely ironic because when we moved in the place was disgusting - obviously uncleaned - there was grease in the cupboards, mold, cooking grease on all the appliances, burnt food in the oven. We left the apartment impeccably clean in comparison however we're still denied our security deposit.

Do not live here unless you want to feel scammed and unsafe.

Re: “Cuyahoga County Public Library-Orange Branch

Modern building that lets in a lot of light. Peaceful. Not a cozy place like the classic libraries of Shaker and Cleveland Heights. A few very rude and uninformed staff members. Clearly these people feel they are not accountable to the public. Enjoy the view!

Re: “The Shop

Not bad. Not bad at all.. I was usually quite inebriated during events, so my opinion might be a bit skewed. .But, if you want a dark, smokey industrial size garage, packed with people enjoying the hell out of themselves while some small-time, albeit entertaining bands cause the concrete, brick and steel to ring with high frequencies- then, might as well stop by if your nearby on a saturday or some other time. Lastly, I'd like to emphasize the venue's hit-or-miss quality with regards to events. It seems to me, from a little experience that it struggles to find enough performers on occasion, which can mean that the house band may perform a song or two (nothing new.) In closure, I'll confess that I haven't visited The Shop in almost three years ( due to staying in Orange and Riverside counties in California for a while-not to mention a mutually hostile relationship with a regular there, but that's for a different place..)

Re: “Hartville Flea Market

There is something for everyone here! From antiques to cell phones and so much more! There is an outdoor market that sells fruits and veggies and items you would typically see at a flea market. Go inside and find one of a kind items that are hand crafted including hand spun knits and crochet, amish wood. Let me say-the food is just phenomenal! One could easily make a day of walking and bartering for your next treasure. Wear comfy shoes, it is a LOT of walking and worth the drive from CLE!

Re: “Jack's Deli

I live right across the street and visit often. Never once have I had anything less than great to eat at Jack's. Dare I say they have the best corned beef in Cleveland. Well, I certainly think they do. And yeah I've been to the other place.

Re: “The Empire Concert Club & Bar

Hate the place. Will reluctantly go infrequently because of the quality of acts, but will cut way down. I will never drink there again. They deprived me of a great night and took the side of selfish greedy people who had assaulted me for my spot in the front. When I didn't move I was accused of fighting and ejected. I will never forgive them and will unfriend all associates on FB which they also got me kicked from because of a bad review

Re: “Quicken Loans Arena

We wet to the Mac Tournament 3/10/17 all day. Very enjoyable. The staff was most helpful. One particular person was an officer named Paula who extended the most sincere courtesy to us between events. She went out of her way to accomidate our needs. Will go again in the future.

Re: “Bumpers Bar & Grill

Waitress was TERRIBLE. But why would she even try since a 20% gratuity is automatically added to your bill?! NOT ONCE did she ask if we wanted something to drink, my husband had to go get our drinks from the bar each time. We had to ask for everything, napkins, butter and she didn't smile one single time. There is no way in hell she deserved a $20 tip. They refused to take the tip off the bill, but Discover will be taking it off for me.

Crab legs were good, but definitely not worth the godawful service. We will never go back.

Re: “Brew Garden Strongsville

Food is ok, standard american choices, quality was average. Service at this location, aside from our waitress Maddie, was HORRIBLE! We were quoted a 45 min wait, but instead stood unattended in the lobby entry for over an hour. Everyone who came in before and after us, was seated, while the terrible blonde hostess just kept saying i'm sorry no one is leaving, you just have to wait. All she did was play with and reference her touch screen contraption, and basically could not make a human choice, decision or action without it. The hostess staff never asked how we were while waiting as long as we did, nor did they make any effort in this enormous location to creatively come up with seating, putting tables together for the 6 of us - nothing. After over an hour, we prompted the hostess staff to split us up at booths we saw empty out, to avoid any further wait. The young staff was running around with one another joking, laughing, while customers just waited and looked on. They seemed to be having fun. The manager even socialized with the hostess staff, and frequently passed and just looked onto the waiting group of customer. Not sure he cared. Never a comment from him either during the hour plus wait. If you have long waits, tend to the people waiting a little - check in, direct them to the bar, ask if they need anything. Without us, your customers, you won't have paychecks - would be in your best interest as a service provider, to at a minimum, satisfy us, your customers. A table opened within minutes of us asking to be split up. You think the intelligent hostess, or her uninteractive manager would have come to move us there, NOPE - they were seating the next group. Work on you staff Brew Garden. I know they are young 20 somethings, but they are the face of your business, especially the hostess staff at the front door, and the management. Ask them to act like humans with brains, whose job is to service and please the other humans who walk in the door, and not just come to work to hang out with other staff, have fun and depend entirely on their electronic contraptions to tell them what to do next. I doubt I'll ever go back to this location. We live in a foody town with tons of amazing choices with true food quality and service. This is nowhere near a fit in that statement. To Maddie, the waitress, thank you for being the only one who made things happen and actually got us into a large booth together before our food was served.

Re: “El Tango Taqueria

This is the worst restaurant EVER. I worked for the man Antonio who owns the whole thing and he didn't pay me A DIME! I will be suing him and placing a claim against him. On top of it all he had me making alcoholic drinks knowing I was under the age of 21 years old. Police have confided in telling me he has treated multiple people this way. I see the way he makes the food and he touches everything with his fingers and then does dishes and touches money! He wraps up left over food by the dirty dishes and grabs it with his fingers. He also re-uses the left over salsa because apparently he can't afford to waste food. It's completely disgusting and unsanitary. Do NOT go there.
