Re: “A Forgettable Indian Adventure In Chesterland

Chesterland is roughly in my neck of the woods, and I used a Groupon coupon at Puri on one occasion. It was by far the worst Indian restaurant among the half dozen or so in the Cleveland area that Indian friends and I have patronized. I notice that Puri is again on Groupon- there is a reason that they must solicit business!

I love it there! Food is great and inexpensive and Lysette is a sweetheart. I'll definitely go back there!

Re: “Wooden Pallets and Great Coffee Find a Home at Lakewood's La Maison Palette

Wael and Kyra are gracious, personable hosts and their products are amazing. The article did not mention that they are also supporters of local artists and invite visual arts and performances to their welcoming shop. They host our west side edition of the Cleveland Improv Jam every other Tuesday at 7pm and we can usually get Wael to join in while Kyra side coaches him!

This is a wonderful shop! I've not yet met Kyra, but Wael is a gracious host and the place has a great energy about it. I'm not a coffee drinker so I appreciate the tea offered!

I love this place! The pastries are other-worldly and the syrup flavors are so unique and homemade. I visit every time I'm on the Westside.

Re: “Marie's Restaurant of St. Clair-Superior is a True Neighborhood Spot

Best meat dishes in Cleveland. Made-from-scratch stuffed cabbage, potato dumplings, fruit pies, soups, schnitzel and savory goulash. Repeat customers know the value of these generous portions of home-cooked, flavorfull meals. Single diners as well as big families feel welcomed by the family who run this comfort-food establishment. Look for local politicians and legal eagles in the lunch crowd. They know the best places to dine. They've found it at Marie's.

Re: “Collision Bend Puts the Restaurant Back in the Brewery

Went there for my wife's birthday, at her request. Typical foodie fare...tiny portions that look good but are mostly sizzle instead of steak, mostly just good looks on the plate, Edible was another story. Fish taco was okay and so was the big cheesy meatball in its own sauce, but the overpriced "bistro steak" was nothing more than a few stringy slices of gristly beef that almost made my wife choke. She actually had to spit some of it out. That's rare for her.

Aside from the steak, everything was...well...okay. About what one would expect from the revived East Bank on a Friday night. Lots of well-heeled dudes and dudettes, pretty young things and prowling cougars. I'm strictly old school...give me a joint like Sokolowski's any time.

Re: “Marie's Restaurant of St. Clair-Superior is a True Neighborhood Spot

Our family has been going their for years. We love the food, Anna's amazing. The writer of this article forgot to ask her about her 2 published books. I don't know where she gets the time to write, but they are great mystery books with a little bit of Cleveland in them.
Now getting back to the restaurant. This is a friendly place and you always feel welcome.
It has survived Cleveland ups and downs, because of that personal touch, great food and always make you feel welcomed.

Marie's is a real gem. We have enjoyed dining there and take out for a long time. The schnitzel and city chicken are outstanding. They serve high quality food at very good prices. I'm glad to see them get some ink in your paper

One of the finest restaurants/breweries in town and also just a great place to hang out. Views and dcor are first class also.

Re: “Collision Bend Puts the Restaurant Back in the Brewery

Actually he knows exactly what he's talking about. There are specific laws in the state that govern liquor licenses, especially as they relate to "tied houses." It's great you like it, that doesn't mean someone is wrong. Keep channeling Trump with your single-word declaratives.

Re: “Four Great Local Wine Stores With More

Can vouch for Cantine! Love their pork wings and have managed to find wonderful Sicilian whites that I haven't been able to run down anywhere else. Wine buyer is astute and manager Frank is the bomb!

^^ This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Sad! This brewery that has an AMAZING restaurant is the greatest place on Earth! I go to Collison Bend Brewing Company three times a week and am blown away by the incredible food, beer, and atmosphere every time!
