Re: “Huge Original Euclid Tavern Sign From 1909 For Sale

The sign is not from 1909....neon wasn't even made at that point.
I was ran the project where the old sign came down and new repro one went up.
It's probably from the 60's

Re: “Sterle's Country House to Close After More than 60 Years

if you don't open for dinner or lunch you are closed. Whether closed for private party or just closed, it's still closed. Sad to see it go.

Re: “Cleveland Pizza Fest Returns to the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds This Weekend

The Pizza Fest 5k run/1-mile walk will take place at 11 am on Saturday -- PR's could be in the forecast, since the weather is slated to be summertime nice.

Re: “Shake Shack Coming to Cleveland Sooner than Planned

I'm concerned about what this says about race in Cleveland. Scene, you need to investigate why the neighborhoods are being constantly deprived of amenities like high speed internet and Shake Shacks. The only answer can be racism.

Re: “You Can Soon Text Your Emergencies to 911 in Cuyahoga County

This is a really really really good idea. Quietly sneaking a text to 911 is a little less obvious than calling. Awesome to hear, hopefully this gets rolled out nationwide.

Re: “Rock Hall Opens New Summer of Love Exhibit

Any time there's a story about May Fourth (the Kent shootings) online, the comment boards are still infested with folks who want to "kill all the Communist hippies"...fifty years later. Amazing. And sick.

And after they ruin it, those short-sighted, money-hungry, profit-driven, white American greedheads will blame the destruction of their civilization on terrorism, people of color, other countries, Muslims., blah blah blah..., everything but the rich white guy in the mirror.

Re: “Sterle's Country House to Close After More than 60 Years

"Rebranding"...the most bullshit word used in today'sCleveland food scene. It means "It ain't really broke but it's not working the way we like it, so we're gonna fuck it up some more and REALLY break it, until it's ruined completely and we don't have to stay in business anymore."

Or it just means the same as "Closed For Remodeling"...we're toast, and we ain't coming back.

I am so tired of this foodie crap. Thank God there are still some sane old-school businesses like Sokolowski's left. But as the Brooklynization of Clveland continues, even that may go away one day. Nothing is safe anymore.

Quality of food went down, quantity of food went down, price went up. Wasn't worth the trek anymore. Will stick to the Slovenian Workmen's Home instead.

Re: “Government Report Says Great Lakes in Bad Condition, Lake Erie Worst of the Bunch

Yeah, there are a lot of stupid people in this country and they appear to be mostly white. I've known this for a long time but I always hoped my fellow white people would smarten up. Alas, it has not happened. They will ruin the planet and ruin the civilization they worked so hard to develop.
