Re: “Cleveland's Secret Amazon Incentive Package Has a Stupid Code Name

All the bids have been submitted. There is no reason for the details to be kept a secret... except for hiding how thirsty we are.

Except there are no art galleries anymore; displaced by gentrified hipster bistros and trendy boutiques.

Re: “Councilman T.J. Dow, in Spiteful Farewell, Tries to Impoverish His Own Ward

If you read Mansfield Frazier's comments you read and ignored my response. No problem. I'm accustomed to your reporting by omission and manufacturing quotes to place in someone's mouth.

You left out the fact that Basheer Jones told council members and employees during an orientation before he took office that he wanted to send block grant money overseas and pay off friends he owed. He was told "no" and that there'd criminal trouble for him if he tried. So knowing Jones had nefarious intentions that didn't serve Ward 7 residents, TJ Dow wrote the letter to try and protect the dollars and keep them in Cleveland.

You've just quoted Jones as saying he doesn't know what he's going to do with the money. Let me share that there is no role a councilman plays in the block grant process other than to vote as a member of the legislative body for the "action plan" the city was required to submit to HUD by November 15th. A member of council under Ohio law, the charter and federal law plays no "individual" role in authorizing block grant expenditures. It's the mayor's job to spend the money. It's council's job "as a body" to appropriate it. This information is all in the governing documents Jones swore he'd obey and enforce in his oath of office that neither he nor you have read. So if after being administered an oath of office, and Jones is acting like he can ignore the action plan the mayor submitted to HUD last year to now determine on his own how the money is spent; his statement is an admission of his ignorance and demonstrates he hasn't read the action plan or federal HUD laws.

Since I'm the only person on this page responding who's managed a block grant program twice and submitted four action plans to HUD, TJ Dow's letter for smart people drew attention to Ward 7's block grants and alerted residents to keep an eye on Jones. But since this isn't a line in those sexually-charged, crotch grabbing, leg-spreading plays you perform in, you've omitted real information that could have helped Ward 7 residents. You quote Mansfield as if he's a master of municipal government and HUD programs; and that his interpretation of the letter reflects knowledge. I know Mansfield. On this topic all he has is an unsupported opinion.

I don't know what's happening to fact-based journalism and quality reporting. What you've written isn't it.

Re: “Sweet Melissa in the Heights Has Closed

As a customer I loved this place...loved the food. My wait staff always seemed competent and we always got a menu so from a customer point of view I didn't see the above issues. I'm sorry to see the place go as it was one of my favorite places to eat. I never had a bad meal there.

Re: “Federal Indictment Alleges 28-Year-Old Cleveland Man Created 'Fruitfly' Malware, Spied on Thousands of Computers Over 13 Years

Um,
So how many Millions of Android and i-Phones are infected worldwide ?

And how many "others" out there, including state actors like Russia, China, and North Korea can or have been exploiting "Fruitfly" malware-in-place on everybody's personal Smartphones, and other portable devises to wreck havoc on American's personal financial accounts, and browser Porn-Search histories ?

Seems like the personal desktops, and corporate laptops are small peanuts compared to Smartphones over last 14-years.

Re: “A Brave Never Tells

I was on staff at camp those years . I have horror stories that still keep me up at night from Jim mills and Mike klinger and Gonzo. How corrupt that branch of the Order of the Arrow is and how screwy pipe stone is. I still live with my nightmares over 20 years ago.

Re: “A Brave Never Tells

I'am a Eagle Scout and was on staff during the mid nineties. It is a shame what happened to Alot of staff I'm thinking of writing a book on my ordeals with the order of the arrow, the camp staff and how Mike assaulted me numerous times as a commissioner and was never trained for it, and how many times I let people know about what really happened when Jim Mills was around and what really happened it was more graphic than this and has scared me forever. BTW ,Jeff the head of the camp I'm tired of holding all of this in my life is no secret anymore.

If I just saw the mug shot and didn't read the story first, I'd tag him as some serial killer who kept body parts in his back bedroom and maybe stole corpses from funeral homes., Doesn't sound like he even made a buck from his crimes, presumably while being the proverbial parental-basement-dwelling hacker.

Nope...it just sounds like he just spent all those years doing his thing in order to do better at spanking the monkey. There are some truly sick puppies out there, and now there's one less. God knows how many lives he screwed up while becoming the best possible wanker he could be..

Re: “RTA Will Likely Cut 2.5 Million Rides, Lay Off 160-200 Workers Due to Lost Revenue

Even in cities like San Francisco their fixed-route services only operate limited hours, and considering that neither service even has their pooled ride service here due to low volume, it's doubtful they'd bring fixed-route services here.

i love the motley crue 94 album as well as the previous stuff. I love pretty much everything Motley has released. But i totally agree with that comment about The Corabi album being the best of all.
