Poetry Plus at Art on Madison will triple your pleasure in October with readings by two acclaimed featured poets - Matt Hart (Cincinnati) and Nicole Hennessy (CLE) - plus an open mic emceed by Ohio Beat Poet Laureate John Burroughs. Matt Hart is the Pushcart Prize-winning author of nine books of poems, including most recently Everything Breaking/for Good (YesYes, 2019) and The Obliterations (Pickpocket, 2019). Nicole Hennessy is a locally-based poet and journalist. Rachel Kushner is the best-selling author of The Flamethrowers, a finalist for the National Book Award and a New York Times Top Ten Book of 2013; Telex from Cuba (2008), a finalist for the National Book Award; and The Mars Room (2018), which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. Piper Kerman got mixed up in a drug trafficking and money laundering operation. Kerman was later sentenced to 15 months in prison.
