Fifth Annual Touchdown for Hunger

The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland aims to "reduce hunger and enhances nutrition in our community by providing food and other health-related vital services to individuals and families and by actively and effectively participating in a coordinated response to people in need." Today's fifth annual Touchdown for Hunger that takes place at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium will raise money for the organization. Anyone who brings jars of peanut butter, boxes of oatmeal, cans of beans and other non-perishable food items to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. will score discounted $7 same-day admission. Those who arrive between 11am and noon could also get a "high five" from Cleveland Browns mascot Chomps, who'll be on hand for the event. (Niesel)

CITY DOGS Cleveland volunteers created The Plankton Fund in memory of Plankton, a dog who came to the City of Cleveland Kennel in 2014 with late-stage heartworm disease. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Plankton Fund has since helped 84 dogs receive lifesaving heartworm treatment which would have otherwise been impossible due to the high cost of treatment. We hope you can join us at our 4th Annual Holiday Hops for Hearts event benefitting The Plankton Fund for a night of delicious locally-brewed beer, yummy snacks, and some one-of-a-kind raffle baskets for a great cause! This dinner, held on December 3, 2018, is open to anyone who wishes to celebrate the accomplishments of new and existing members. The 100 Year Club of the Western Reserve was created in 1953 to honor an elite group of our region’s corporations and institutions that have been in continuous existence for at least one hundred years. Story Club is an open mic for true stories and was voted "best bar event" by Thrillist Cleveland. We're thrilled to start this second installment of our Cleveland show at Forest City Brewery! We also three open mic slots so you can share your true story! Open mic sign up starts at 7PM and open micers are given 8 minutes (1300 words) in which to tell their true tales. If more than 3 people sign up we'll draw names for the slots. Entrance is free, and the evening's suggested $10 donation supports local charities. $10
