The Caramel Revue

In an effort to bring more attention to performers of color, the locally based Le Femme Mystique will present The Caramel Revue, a celebration of Ohio’s black burlesque artists, at 8 tonight at the Beachland Ballroom. The show's producers, Cece Noir, Bella Sin and Mr. Tuesday, have teamed up to produce a program that will “speak to the audience and highlight the beauty of diversity on stage.” In addition to Cece Noir and Mr. Tuesday, local performers such as Deva Diamond, Selena Noir, Dakota Cox, Shari Turner and Lakota Shekhar will be on hand. Cleveland’s only all-black Burlesque Troupe, Suga Shack Burlesque, will perform as well and so will burlesque star Bianca Coal, who’s coming up from Columbus for the event. Tickets cost $17 in advance, $20 at the door. (Niesel)

Comprised of talented dancers with varied backgrounds in contemporary, modern, hip hop, tap and more, A.I.M performs works that range in movement style and tell stories that inspire personal reflection about history, societal issues and how the two intertwine. Born into hip-hop culture in the late '70s and raised with an artistic upbringing including classical cello, piano, and the visual arts, Kyle Abraham's work approaches movement as a way to deeply delve into personal identity, race and social justice issues. $25- $45

An evening filled with bravura, exceptional technique an magnificent artistry. Classical and favorite pas de deuxs choreographed by ballet masters George Balanchine, Marius Petipa and Vasily Vainonen will delight the audience during the first part of the evening. These will include works from the ballet Don Quixote, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, and Flames of Paris. To culminate the performance, Provocativo a one act plotless ballet to the music of Astor Piazzola, will transport the audience to a world of Argentinian music, movements and melodies. $25 - $79

With a sold out run of a holiday favorite the ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ during 2017, Cleveland Ballet returns to the Hanna Theatre this coming December 2018. A production suitable to audiences of all ages, this production is Cleveland’s very own and is one to not be missed. The ballet in 2 acts is based on the original story of E.T.A. Hoffman with music composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Beijing Dance Theater makes its Ohio debut with two beautifully lush performances featuring two remarkable works. Founded in 2008, Beijing Dance Theater (BDT) is led by its choreographer Wang Yuanyuan together with visual artists Tan Shaoyuan and Hanjiang. The company collaborates with internationally renowned dramatists, musicians and designers to create dance works that excite audiences with visually dynamic sets, and imaginative choreography. Delicate, beautiful and filled with technically superb dancers, BDT's works create a meeting point where both traditional Chinese culture influences the movement and innovation pushes the company forward through thought provoking contemporary choreography. $25-$50
