Seeking Volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Youth

Ongoing, 12 a.m.-12 p.m.

CASA of Cuyahoga County recruits, screens, trains & supports volunteers who act as advocates for children who are victims of abuse & neglect. Volunteers collect information that helps the judge make the best decision for a safe, caring, & permanent home for children. CASA volunteers are everyday citizens who are trained & appointed by the court to advocate for the safety and well-being of children. The CASA volunteer is responsible for investigation, facilitation, advocacy, & monitoring of the assigned child's case of abuse, neglect, and/or dependency to represent the child's best interests. 216-698-2406

We are looking for family caregivers of adults with bipolar disorder to participate in a research study to test different ways to help caregivers manage stress and stay healthy. The City Mission Stand In

Sat., June 29, 4-7 p.m.

In the 2017-18 school year, there were a reported 2,972 homeless students attending the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. In order for the Cleveland community to SEE and understand the immediate crisis, The City Mission is calling for 3,000 members of the northeast Ohio community to STAND together on June 29 to represent each homeless student in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Together we commit to SERVE to help better the lives of these neighbors. Stand In is a family-friendly event. Beginning at 4:00 p.m., The City Mission will host activities, including music, worship, food trucks and the Stand In moment.

Adopt-A-Beach Cleanups

Sat., July 20, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Sat., Aug. 17, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and Sat., Sept. 28, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium’s Splash Fund is once again organizing participants for the Adopt-a-Beach cleanup program presented by Alliance for the Great Lakes. Donate two hours to helping remove trash and debris from the Lake Erie shoreline. Volunteers who participate in the removal of trash from Edgewater Park Beach on any of the Splash Fund dates listed above receive one (1) free Aquarium admission in appreciation of their time. 216-862-8803
