Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Fri., Feb. 23, 8 p.m.

Three years ago at a sold-out House of Blues show with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, singer-guitarist Noel Gallagher showed the passage of time hasn't diminished his vocals, songwriting or rabid fanbase. Gallagher and his band tore through a good portion of their self-titled 2011 debut and 2015's stellar Chasing Yesterday. Occasional appearances by a three-piece horn section added brassy, staccato backbone on multiple songs (especially on electrifying versions of "Do The Damage" and "The Mexican") and circus-like loopiness on "The Death Of You and Me." For tonight's show, Gallagher & Co. will also draw from their new album, Who Built the Moon? (Annie Zaleski) $46-$329

Valerie June/The War and Treaty

Fri., Feb. 23, 8 p.m.

Last year was full of performances and promotion for Tennessee artist Valerie June. Her schedule even included a stop at Farm Aid with Willie Nelson. Starting with the release of The Order of Stone, the follow-up to her 2013 record co-produced by Dan Auerbach, the singer-songwriter has been on the move. Given her nasally, profoundly affected and haunted voice, it makes sense she's a star on the rise. Her music stems from that old-timey sound and possesses a sort of calming blues effect. With its lyrical prose and musicality, the latest record is especially moving. June is sure to bring all of that sensibility to the Beachland Ballroom stage tonight. (Morrison) $25
