Originally a duo, Akron’s Red Rose Panic expanded into a five-piece a few years back, recruiting the other band members from their church to round out the group. Inspired by N.E.R.D. rapper and songwriter Pharrell Williams, the band issued the EP One Night Standard in 2014 and then followed it up in 2016 with the single “Party Time, Excellent.” The group has just finished cutting Time Attack, a new album that it recorded at Central 8 Studios in Akron. Tonight's show serves as a release party. The groovy, guitar-driven "Been There" shows how capably the band embraces hip-hop, funk and pop. Expect to hear it along with a slew of other new tunes.
