Since forming in 2010, Neave Trio has received praise for its "engaging, cutting-edge performances." It has held residency positions at Brown University, ArtsAhimsa Chamber Music Festival, San Diego State University and the Banff Centre. In the fall of 2017, the trio joined the faculty of the Longy School of Music of Bard College as an Alumni Artists, Faculty Ensemble-in-Residence. The group aims to champion new works by living composers and its most recent album, Celebrating Piazzolla, honors the music of Astor Piazzolla. At 8 tonight, the group comes to town to celebrate music by women composers and will perform at Praxis Fiber Workshop & Gallery, where it'll present works by four distinguished women composers spanning the romantic era through the modern day, including Rebecca Clarke's Piano Trio, Amy Beach's Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 150, Cécile Chaminade's Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 11 and Jennifer Higdon's Piano Trio. AJ Croce Plays Croce

Sat., June 15, 8 p.m.
The Kent Stage 175 E. Main St., Kent Kent/Portage County

For the current tour, singer-songwriter A.J. Croce will perform his father Jim Croce’s songs, his own material and songs that influenced both of them. Croce's father died when he was only 2, but despite that traumatic setback, Croce has gone to have a successful career and released nine albums to date. His latest effort, Just Like Medicine, veers from simmering rockers such as the soulful "Gotta Get Outta My Head" and woozy, horn-driven ballads such as "Cures Just Like Medicine." Join us on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16 at the Kulas Auditorium in the John Carroll University Administration Building. Fifty years ago, in June 1969, two events happened - the Cuyahoga River caught fire and the Stonewall riots in New York City marked the start of the modern gay rights movement in the United States. While they are totally unrelated, we have figured out how to merge them into a concert that will look at our past, our present, and our future. Celebrate how far we have come - both as a region and as a community 216-556-0590

Tank and the Bangas/Alfred Banks

Sat., June 15, 9 p.m.

When they played at last year's In Cuya music festival, Tank and the Bangas, a rowdy band out of New Orleans, could’ve easily played on a bigger stage. Wearing a bright green shirt and colorful camo pants, exuberant singer Tarriona "Tank" Ball held the crowd’s attention with her grinding dance moves, and the large ensemble mixed together funk, rock and jazz. The band's new album, Green Balloon, features an equally likable mix of genres. The quirky "Spaceships" possesses an Outkast vibe, and "Ants" features some tongue-twisting rhymes.
