UA Theatre continues its season with Maxim Gorky’s The Lower Depths, directed by guest artist Jimmie Woody. The Lower Depths depicts a group of impoverished individuals living in a homeless shelter. Premiered in Russia in 1902, the play explores the dichotomy between the harsh truths of the characters’ reality and the comforting lies that pervade their lives. The UA production moves the action to New York City circa 1910 and highlights the many different social classes and ethnic tensions of the era. Director Jimmie Woody is a Northeast Ohio actor/director who was recently featured in Cleveland Playhouse’s production of Sweat. $10 general admission, $5 students

Point of No Return Improv provides an interactive comedy experience; part theatre, part comedy, and all improv! Audience members provide inspiration in the form of suggestions from which original scenes are created. Some brave audience members may even find themselves in the show! Falls Free Press explains, “A PNR show is like coming to a play with no idea of a plot, and leaving having seen twenty shows in the span of two hours.” Cuyahoga Falls Patch calls Point of No Return “simultaneously hilarious and nerve-wracking.” Point of No Return has been featured at the Big-Little Comedy Fest, First Night $5 cash at the door
