Uptown Out to Lunch Series

At today's Out to Lunch concert, on Toby's Plaza in the Uptown District, you can grab lunch from your favorite Uptown eatery and have a seat at the great picnic table while listening to local bands. Today, the local duo Shawn & Shelby performs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The free concert series continues through Sept. 11. The schedule is on the website. (Niesel)

Seeking Volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Youth

CASA of Cuyahoga County recruits, screens, trains & supports volunteers who act as advocates for children who are victims of abuse & neglect. Volunteers collect information that helps the judge make the best decision for a safe, caring, & permanent home for children. CASA volunteers are everyday citizens who are trained & appointed by the court to advocate for the safety and well-being of children. The CASA volunteer is responsible for investigation, facilitation, advocacy, & monitoring of the assigned child's case of abuse, neglect, and/or dependency to represent the child's best interests. 216-698-2406
