X/Skating Polly

Wed., May 22, 8 p.m.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1977, the punk band X keeps plugging along. The group recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, and it continues to relentlessly tour. Early albums such as Los Angeles, Wild Gift and Under the Big Black Sun show just how much rockabilly influenced the group. Tacoma, WA-based Skating Polly opens the show. Last year's effort, The Make It All Show, features blistering alt-rock tunes that have an undeniable intensity to them, and the band's set should nicely complement X's. (Jeff Niesel) $40
