Night at the Brewseum

Cleveland Beer Week comes to a conclusion today with Night at the Brewseum, a blow-out party that takes place at 7 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The event will feature will feature 150 beers along with culinary creations from Ohio City Provisions, Butcher and the Brewer, Tremont Taphouse, Fahrenheit, Fire Food and Drink, the Flying Fig, Mabel's BBQ, Lola Bistro, B Spot Burgers, Momocho, El Carnicero, the Plum, Good Company, Market Garden Brewpub, Banter Beer and Wine, and many more. History on Tap: Cleveland’s Haunted History

A reoccurring event at the WRHS Cleveland History Museum, History on Tap features a unique theme, happy hour drink specials and activities inspired by Cleveland’s past. Tonight, guests can experience an after-hours evening dedicated to Cleveland’s haunted history. Guests will immerse themselves in the stories of Cleveland’s spooky past as they tour the historic Hay-McKinney mansion. Themed costumes are greatly encouraged. The Uptown Upside Down Halloween Bash

Tonight from 7 to midnight, University Circle's Uptown District will celebrate Halloween with a special Upside Down Halloween Bash that takes place on Toby's Plaza. There will be a Halloween dance party with DJ Red-I, fortune tellers and palm readers, a glow-in-the-dark mini golf course, screenings of classic horror movies, a complimentary candy and Halloween treats bar, a costume contest with prizes and a pumpkin carving. Daisy Ridley, Naomi Watts and Clive Owen star in Ophelia, a film set in medieval Denmark. It imagines the story of Hamlet from the perspective of one of the play’s female characters. Mike Doughty Plays Soul Coughing's Ruby Vroom/The Ghost of Mr. Oberon

Former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty usually doesn't have good things to say about the band he fronted from 1992 to 2000. Though internal tensions ripped the group apart, the band made some great albums before imploding. The savvy Ruby Vroom might be the best disc in the catalog. it features songs such as the jazzy "Is Chicago, Not Chicago" and the clever "Screenwriters Blues." One of Cleveland’s best local acts, the Whiskey Daredevils have just released their latest effort, Bonafide. Locally based Gotta Groove Records pressed the album on gold vinyl, and the disc is the first to feature guitarist Hector Mattos. The record was recorded earlier this year at Rust Belt Recording in the same room where the hard rock act Greta Van Fleet had just cut its album. Nearly 60% of inmates in Ohio jails are awaiting trial, including approximately 1,000 in the Cuyahoga County jail. Average wait: 3 months. These inmates have not been found guilty. Most cannot pay a monetary bond and potentially risk losing their job, housing and children. Many have mental health and addiction problems. How are other communities handling this problem? “Music of South India” is a performance rooted in the rich tradition of South Indian Classical Music, also known as Carnatic Music. This form of Classical Music is an expression of the ancient heritage of India through its rich repertoire of compositions created over many centuries. “Music of South India” will take the audience through a journey of the sounds of Carnatic Music.
