The University of Akron Dance Company presents Fall 2018 Dance Concert

This evening of dance is a collection of individual works and styles by UA choreographer Nick Carlisle, and guest choreographers Holly Bass, Mary-Elizabeth Fenn and Kaleb Reilly.The dance styles presented by the artists are a blend of contemporary modern and contemporary ballet styles. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors, alumni, UA faculty and staff, and $6 for students.

The release of a new Warren Miller Entertainment ski film signals the start of ski season as much as anything. Tonight at 8, the Akron Civic Theatre will screen his latest flick featuring skiers performing death defying stunts. A "ski fest" precedes the screening and commences at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. Inaugural Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest

Sat., Nov. 17, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 18, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Alpacas will be featured in the show ring competition, comprised of classes judging conformation & fleece quality in many categories for both Suri and Huacaya alpacas. A Novice Halter Class will take place in which newer breeders can compete against their peers and yet advance to the Color Championship in each color division. Mentoring programs will also be offered to help new alpaca owners compete in the show ring and better manage their breeding programs. Artisans will showcase examples of felting, fiber arts and more. Vendors and farm displays will sell the latest alpaca fashions and hand-crafted items. FREE
