Cavs vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Sat., Feb. 23

Much like the Cavaliers, the Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to rebuild next season. Before this year's trade deadline, the Grizzlies unloaded their star center Marc Gasol, so they're missing one of their top players. As a result, this should be a winnable game for the Cavs. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at the Q. Consult the Cavs site for ticket prices. (Niesel)

Jump Back Ball

Sat., Feb. 23

Taking place tonight at 7 at the State Theatre, the 28th annual incarnation of the event has adopted a unique theme, which is “Jump Back Across the Pond. “Think royal family, Harry Potter and the Beatles,” reads the press release about the event. Two bands, Abby Normal and the Detroit Lean and Faction, will perform. Special late-night tickets go for $75, about half of what a general admission ticket costs, and they give partygoers access to the festivities after 9:30 p.m. The event concludes at midnight. Consult the Playhouse Square website for more info. (Niesel)

Badfish/Bumpin' Uglies/Roots of Creation

Fri., Feb. 22, 8 p.m.

The thing about the Sublime tribute band Badfish is that they perfectly encapsulate the vision set forth by Sublime's singer, the late Bradley Nowell, back in the day. While putting their own twist on certain songs, the band members keep the energetic spirit of Sublime alive, all while proferring the music to younger generations and new fans alike. They formed in 2001 at the University of Rhode Island, and it's been a wild ride ever since. Each time they come around to the region, they seem to be bolder and more invigorated. Seven or eight years ago, they were a slimmed-down version of themselves playing smaller bars around Ohio, including a long-gone Blue Gator in Athens. A frontman change in 2007 opened up their sound and ensured that there was no slowing down for these guys. (Eric Sandy) $25 ADV, $30 DOS
