Science Cafe

Second Monday of every month

The second Monday of each month, Music Box Supper Club hosts Science Cafe, an informal lecture series that brings scientists from throughout the region to the club to talk about science topics. Tonight at 7, Herman O. Sintim, a professor of chemistry in the department of chemistry and the Center for Drug Discovery at Purdue University's College of Science, will discuss how antibiotic-resistant pathogens make over two million Americans sick every year. In the late 1880s, Cleveland was one of the great American cities. Much like New York’s social elite, its wealthy residents lived in high style. The lives of these high society residents included extravagant entertainment and elaborate social engagements, all of which carried the expectation of impeccable style. The historic garments and accessories that provide a window into the world of privileged Cleveland are on display in the newest exhibit at the WRHS History Center: In Grand Style. Free with admission. $10 adults, $5 children 3-12, Free for WRHS members and children under 2.

The Cleveland Blues Society's Blues Mobile cruises to Griller's Pub for the monthly jam on Monday, April 13th. Hosting will be the Blue Collar Band. They take the stage at 7:30 and play the first hour. After that, the jam begins and lasts until we run out of players. We've done Griller's before, so we know the food is excellent, the drinks will be cold, and the vibe mellow. Whether you are a blues player or just a fan, come join us. 1967, the year Rolling Stone magazine debuted, was a pivotal year in rock and roll. It saw major releases from The Beatles, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, Cream, the Byrds, the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Velvet Underground, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and so many others. It was also famous for its “Summer of Love” in San Francisco, the same city where Rolling Stone began publication. Since then, Rolling Stone has been at the epicenter of popular culture and politics.
