Genesis 2.0

Thu., Feb. 21

Genesis 2.0 focuses on the harsh and dangerous life of so-called mammoth hunters who live and work on the remote New Siberian Islands in the far north of Siberia. The film captures the gold rush fever that exists because the prices for this "white gold" have never been so high. Sometimes, the hunters even find an almost completely preserved mammoth carcass with fur, liquid blood and muscle tissue intact. The movie shows tonight at 7 at the Cedar Lee Theatre as part of the Reel Science Series. Roberta Muehlheim, Assistant Curator Department of Vertebrate Zoology, will host the screening. Tickets cost $9.75. (Niesel)
