At 66, Dylan has deflected the geriatric jokes aimed at most of his contemporaries by following in the footsteps of venerable blues and country troubadours like B.B. King and Johnny Cash, both of whom were never criticized for no longer looking 25. That's because they toured incessantly.
More interesting, however, is the critical and commercial success of Dylan's last three releases: Time Out of Mind, Love and Theft, and last year's Modern Times. On numerous Dylan-oriented websites, it is common for fans to ask Dylan to play more material from his recent albums -- something unthinkable for the Stones and Macca fans.
Reviews of these recent shows have been enthusiastic. Expect Dylan and his five-piece band to play a 16-song set -- a third of which will consist of recent material, with the rest coming from the first three decades of the greatest song catalog of the last half-century.
