Service With a Sneer

Bar makes you wait for drinks. Surprisingly, it still has customers.

BamBoozles has played the same joke on customers for nearly 25 years at Tuit Nite. When someone orders a drink on Thursday and Saturday nights, the bartender plunks down a wooden token emblazoned with the word tuit. Barmaid Sandi Powell even slams it down with attitude. “You’ll get your drink when I get to it,” she says. @cal body 1:But the gag has limits. Customers have to wait for well drinks and beer, but servers don’t waste any time delivering the top-shelf stuff. “We’re that busy,” says Powell. “But there are no hard feelings. Because it doesn’t take that long for us to make you happy.”
