Just in time for tomorrows Earth Day celebration, Standing Rock Cultural Arts Group Environmental Art Exhibition features work by a half-dozen green-minded artists. The fifth-annual outing features paintings, sculptures, and collages by folks like P.R. Miller, Vince Packard, and Lori Fields. The artists -- most of whom live in the area -- were asked to create pieces that reflect their perspective on the planet. Some works are hopeful (Fields paintings of angels with attitude), some less so (Kim Richardsons surreal paintings). And some, as is the case of Millers sculptures, are assembled out of scrap metal, broken pieces of glass, and other discarded trash. Its a perfect way to commemorate our world.
Mondays-Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. Starts: April 7. Continues through May 5
