This Happy Hour Has Raw Fish

Cheap sushi and martinis make for after-work delights.

Jesus DeManuel, who used to run upscale restaurants in Florida, brings a splash of South Beach flavor to the Warehouse District at tonight’s Sushi Happy Hour. DeManuel launched the daily special a few weeks ago at Sunset Lounge, where three sushi chefs dish up a menu of more than 15 delicacies -- like shrimp, spicy-tuna, and eel-avocado rolls. They usually cost $5.50. But during happy hour, they go for a mere $2.75 to $3.25. “When I go to a sushi place, I have an appetizer and then step to another place for dinner,” says DeJesus. “Here, you can have a full dinner.”

The club also slashes prices on its martinis (regularly $9) to $4. It’s also picking up valet parking for the night. “If I want to go out with my wife, we can chill, have a martini, and be home by 12:30,” says DeJesus. “It’s a beautiful thing.”
