Date With Destiny's Child

One of Beyonce's old friends helps ring in 2007.

Style and sophistication mark tonight’s music-filled Cleveland Toast New Year’s Eve Party. The end-of-the-year shindig starts on the main floor of the Galleria, where former Destiny’s Child LeToya Luckett and '80s funksters the Zapp Band perform. Browns wide receiver Dennis Northcutt will host, thus ensuring that a ball will drop.

Upstairs, revelers with VIP passes can park themselves at two open bars, where they will enjoy a buffet of hors d’oeuvres with a soundtrack of house music spun by celebrity DJs like Biz Markie, Cool V, Lynda Carter, and Flash. “The mantra for 2007 is destiny fulfilled -- from fashion and traveling to the way you socialize,” says promoter David Bishop. “This is about seizing the day and having fun.”

At 2 a.m., the VIP-only Afterglow party kicks off with WZAK-FM 93.1 DJ Kim Johnson. “This is for the models at heart and the partygoers who desire something different,” says Bishop. “The Midwest has many desirable hot stops. This is one of them.”
