This year's Jägermeister Music Tour, which stops at House of Blues tonight, features a pair of bands that owe a debt to 311. Without the white-boy reggae riddims mined by the Nebraska dub rockers, Pepper and Slightly Stoopid would have fewer musical and lyrical tricks at their disposal. On the new CD No Shame, Hawaii's Pepper works in a palette of funky sounds, while California's Slightly Stoopid wraps up its first decade on Live in San Diego. Both groups also throw some peppy pop-punk and blustery alt-rock into their mixes. They oughta go down smooth with a few ice-cold shots of Jäger.
