Will the Real John Morgan Please Stand Up?

If you're not quite sure which John Morgan will be performing at the Improv over the next several nights, you're not alone. It's certainly not the former cast member of the Royal Canadian Air Farce; he died two years ago. And it's not the topical Florida comedian who's found success impersonating George W. Bush. Yep, it's hard work, keeping straight all these funny guys named John Morgan. "But are there any other John Morgans [known as] the Rajun Cajun?" asks the John Morgan from Louisiana — the one who kicks off a six-night stand in town tonight. From his thick drawl to his political leanings, there's no mistaking Morgan's southern roots. "I'm not afraid to have an opinion — and a somewhat conservative opinion at times," he says. "It's very [rare] in comedy to have a conservative view." Morgan was home when Hurricane Katrina hit. He lives about an hour from New Orleans, but his mom and siblings had houses in the city. They all survived, but his mother had to move in temporarily with the comedian and his family. "I had her with me for 39 days, 5 hours, and 41 minutes," he says. "I was ready for her to go home."
