Today’s Krusty’s Summer Sauce Camp at Whiskey Island is all about drinking lots of beer and listening to summertime tunes. The daylong bash -- which celebrates its 16th anniversary -- was named after The Simpsons’ cranky clown, but its mind-set is more Homer. “We’re a party band,” says Terry Bobb, drummer for the Ark Band, a Columbus-based reggae group that headlines the fest. “We have so many people going, ‘I never liked reggae before I heard you guys.’” Shucking Bubba Deluxe also performs. Plus, there’s all-you-can Krusty Burgers and games. The outdoor party benefits Malachi House, which provides shelter to terminally ill poor people. Bobb says his band complements the spirit of the day. “Reggae music is the cry of the nation,” he says. “It’s the cry of the people. You put your heart into the music.”
