Split Decision

Comedian bombs with the ladies, scores with tech-savvy newbies.

Back in the day, Dano Sullivan was best known as “the bitter-divorce comic.” “I married a nice lady,” he says. “But as it turns out, she was only posing as a nice lady. She was really an undercover whore operative. She didn’t sleep with other guys because she wanted to. She slept with them to complete her assignment.” Things haven’t changed much, he says. “I had a big fight with my girlfriend last night,” he says. “I think we broke up.”

Unlike many veteran stand-up comics, Sullivan doesn’t scorn up-and-comers. In fact, he laughs along with them. “The young comedians inspire the hell out of you,” he says. “They’re excited. They’re not bitter like we are.” The fresh-faced funnymen also come in handy when Sullivan needs to get online. “They’re all computer savvy,” he says. “I’m not.” www.improvupcoming.com.
