The Bitchfits

With Hostile Omish, the Nick Wolff Band, Detroit 442, and Punk Rods, 9 p.m. Friday, January 18, at the Jigsaw Saloon and Stage, 5324 State Rd., Parma, 216-351-3869.

The Misfits might have the best body of work of any rock band, ever. No, we're not saying that "Die Die My Darling" is in any way comparable to "Stairway to Heaven" — thank the dark lords for that. Rather: Assuming you can handle melodic hardcore songs about zombies, skulls, werewolves, and astro zombies, the 'Fits simply don't have any bad songs. So how can you improve on the catalog? Have a bunch of cool grrls sing the songs. And that's where L.A.'s Bitchfits come in. As performed by Gwenn Standzbig, Robosie, Cherry Blow-Me, and Goil Von Frankenhooker, "We Bite" doesn't sound quite as evil or angry, but it's a whole helluva lot sexier.
