If the Shoe Fits

Think of MTV's The Hills in toe shoes this weekend, when the Ballet Theatre of Ohio dances three performances of Cinderella. With a pair of bitchy sisters and a prince with a foot fetish, the production screams hilarity. "We have this misconception that ballet is boring," says Val Renner, the troupe's spokeswoman. "This show is more fun than the Disney cartoon. You will not sit still from laughing." Case in point: Watch Cinderella hit the dance floor with Prince Charming, while her stepsisters pratfall for comic relief. "You love to hate them," says Renner. "While our prince is a Fred Astaire of charm, the villains are my favorites." Showtimes are at 2 and 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Akron Civic Theatre, 182 South Main Street in Akron. Tickets are $10 to $25. Call 330-688-7781 or visit www.ballettheatreofohio.org.
