Yayoi Kusama with recent works in Tokyo in 2016.
Back in the 1960s, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama staged polka-dot “Happenings” in the streets of New York. Those events helped establish her as a significant artist.

In recent years, her “infinity mirror rooms” have become something of a sensation, and the Cleveland Museum of Art has just announced the details regarding tickets for Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors, a show featuring seven rooms (including one that’s exclusive to Cleveland) that opens on July 7.

Beginning on April 9, CMA members will have an exclusive opportunity to reserve tickets before the general public. To reserve tickets in the member presale, the last day to become a member or renew a membership is April 5 (excludes mail renewals). Free timed tickets for members will be available from April 9 to April 13, beginning at 9 a.m. daily. There will be a limited amount of tickets available each day during the member presale. Tickets are not guaranteed.

Timed tickets will be available for public purchase at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 16.

On select Tuesdays and Thursdays, the museum will remain open until 9 p.m. to offer visitors additional times to view the special exhibit. No other galleries will be open during the extended hours.
