A Reason to Watch the MTV Movie Awards

We usually stay far, far away from the MTV Movie Awards, which broadcasts live from L.A. at 8 p.m. on Sunday. Categories like Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet (yeah, we can’t wait for the new Fantastic Four) are no more than free plugs for movies that don’t need them. And the nominees are merely a list of overpaid Hollywood stars (Will Smith for Best Performance in The Pursuit of Happyness?). But this year’s Best Movie Spoof slot features some funny entries, like Quentin Tarantino’s Little Miss Squirtgun and Texas Chainsaw Musical. We’re rooting for Casino Royale With Cheese, shot by Clevelander Bill Caco. The film manages to work in James Bond, Pulp Fiction, and Borat in its tidy three minutes. Caco’s short was chosen among more than 400 films submitted for the Golden Popcorn award. But the final tally comes down to you. Voting begins today. MTV is flying Caco to California for Sunday’s ceremony. Make sure his trip isn’t in vain by voting for Casino Royale With Cheese here: --Michael Gallucci
