Monday: The Cleveland Gladiators inaugurate their new home at
the Q for their debut game against the New York Dragons in the Arena Football League. Led by team president and ex-Browns QB Bernie Kosar, the team has relocated to Cleveland from Las Vegas, where they posted a dismal 2-14 record last season. Kosar has since dumped the dead weight and hired a roster of fresh talent, including former Browns Richard Alston and Kendrick Mosley. Kickoff s at 7 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena, 100 Gateway Plaza. Tuesday: After two months of weekly pub quizzes, tonight’s your last chance to get your name in the bin for
Claddagh Irish Pub’s seasonal drawing for a trip to Ireland. Trivia geeks have been answering a series of brainbusters every Tuesday at the pub’s 16 locations throughout the Midwest. Wedneday: Believe it or not, a comedian named Sleep is keeping clubhoppers awake on Wednesday nights with his gag bag of jokes at Cronies in Lakewood. Sleep’s been emceeing the open-mic comedy night for the past couple months, just like he did a couple years ago at the old Robin’s Nest in downtown Cleveland. Thursday: The Cleveland International Film Festival starts its nine-day marathon with today’s 7 p.m. screening of the Helen Hunt-directed Then She Found Me, about a schoolteacher’s affair with her student’s dad. The fest’s 290 flicks include five features shot in Northeast Ohio, such as Thomas G. Miller’s One Bad Cat: The Reverend Albert Wagner Story, about a Cleveland preacher-turned-artist, and, Jason Zone Fisher’s Swing State, about Ohio politicos like his dad, Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher.
