Who says kids today have no ambition? On Saturday, more than two dozen young gals will compete in the McDonald’s Fry Girl competition, which will settle once and for all who makes the best Big Mac in town.
For the past five weeks, hundreds of local ladies saw their hopes crushed -- as one by one they were knocked out of the contest. On Saturday, the top 26 finalists will square off for the title. Judges will ask contestants questions about their jobs -- including their finest McDonald’s experience; is there such a thing? – and score them appropriately. Plus, all Fry Girls have to perform a song they made up about McDonald’s. Ronald McDonald will be there, but there’s no word on whether or not he’ll be sitting at the judges’ table with meteorologist Mark Nolan.
The winner snags a $5,000 scholarship and an appearance at the Tribe game on July 16, which is – not so coincidentally – McDonald’s Day. It all goes down from 3 to 5 p.m. at House of Blues’ Cambridge Room. --Michael Gallucci
